May 31 More Work Being Done!Larry "The Hunk" Handyman is installing new windows at our neighbor's house ( I want a commission, dammit!!) and we have our painters here!! Painting the bare wood on our new windows. And staining the inside of the new sliding glass door! (I PROMISE I won't walk through it!!)! They do a GREAT job!! 7 windows and the door, entire bathroom and 2 walls??? $300!!! WTH!! You couldn't pay me!!! If only I felt better!! Back... BAD!! Arm... NOT good! Foot... So so!! I am hurting!!! Today I moved furniture, removed hardware and spackled! The rest is up to them!! They do such a great job and work so hard!!
Today the weather was absolutely perfect!! 72, sunny with a cool onshore breeze!! Everyday should be like this!! Not exactly 'beach' weather but definitely 'Spring' Weather!!
As I said, my foot is good to go... or at least to have the stitches removed, however, I'm still concerned about my arm. Not responding as quickly as I had hoped.
The Mom and Pop painters are done until Monday!! They were working for 10 hours!! I think that works out to $8 an hour! What is minimum wage again?? They will be back on Monday to finish.

No Post Today!Well, except for this!! My arm seems to be doing MUCH better! Leaving the bandage off tonight. The furniture moving went well...... because I was under the car in the garage.... hiding!!

Have GREAT weekends!!! May 29 MUCH Better!!!!My foot seems completely healed! Just need the stitches taken out next Tuesday. And my arm is looking MUCH better today!! I have been washing it with oil-free acne soap, then surgical scrub. Then flushing it with Hydrogen Peroxide, spaying it with pain/itch releiver and finally coating it with Silver Sulfadiazine cream. But the big difference seems to be that the antibiotics have kicked in and I changed from sheer plastic bandages to fabric ones. It can now breathe much easier.... and so can I !!!! Looks better and feels better. It itches but I think that's a sign of healing! So forget the peg leg and hook....... and the parrot!!!
We are going to our favorite Japanese restaurant tonight to sit at the bar, have a few drinks and order appetizers!! YUM!! Then back home for the Lakers game!!!
Tomorrow looks scary!! We have painters coming on Saturday and have furniture to MOVE!!!!!! I might be back in the garage!! I PROMISE to be careful!!! Plus, we have our niece here to 'spot' me!!

I just returned from the Japanese restaurant, Kabuki!! Although we never have sat down and eaten a dinner there we LOVE their Happy Hours!!!! I had broiled Mussels and Mixed Sashimi (2 orders!!) Becky had 2 orders of Vegetable Tempura and the nieice got Sakatori chicken nuggets, Edaname and Lobster Sushi rolls!! For drinks? I had 2 Saporro beers and a shot of Japanese Vodka in order to toast a friend!! Wife had two Japanese Vodka Martinis and the niece, two Diet Cokes!! Total bill?? Less than $50!!!! Hard to beat that!! Plus, we always meet some really nice, cool people at the bar!! And the staff are soooo friendly!! It's always fun!! Forgot to bring the camera! Grrrr!!!
As most of you know, my wife works for a major oil company!! Well, this one guy complained that as he was pumping gas, the station turned off the pumps, raised the price by 3 cents, and the turned them back on!! That is SOOOOOO illegal!! Becky gave him a phone number to call and get a refund! Sheesh!! As if the oil companies don't make enough money!!
I gotta go!! Lakers game has started!! Hope they clinch the West tonight!!

Well, after trailing by 17, the Lakers came back to win the Western Championship by 8 points!! Now it's the wait to see who wins the East!! For me, it dosen't matter!! They will be meat!!! Lakers have a deep bench and a great coach!! Oh Yeah!! And Kobe and Gasol!! I know you all hate Kobe but he can play Basketball!! So get over it!! You wish he was on YOUR team!!
Wife and I had an argrument tonight! I stated that Rascsal Flatts was the best band going since they are a trio! Lead singer, drummer and guitar! And yet they get this HUGE sound!! I'm thinking that guitar player is VERY GOOD! So I'm ditching Clay and playing my FAVORITE Rascal Flatts song! Please Listen!! I promise you will like!!

May 28 Givng It Up!No, not my space! But people have been asking me what the deal is with my foot and arm. I have been hesitant about telling you about it because frankly, it's embarassing. But here goes!
FOOT:
Second night in Puerto Vallarta, 2:00AM, strange room, pitch black dark. I wake up to go to the bathroom and instead of going left, I go right....... and walk through a sliding glass door!! Small cuts all over but I severed an artery in my foot, and of course, it was my Charcot foot!!! Becky called and three great security guards show up and try to control the bleeding. Then they called the hotel doctor and I was wheeled to a small room and received 15 stitches. And as usual, with my Neuropathy, no anethesia. I spent the next day in a wheelchair but was up and (limping) about the next day. Still ended up having a great time! I saw my Podiatrist yesterday but it will be another week until the stitches are removed. Here are my embarassing pictures:

Fot the rest of our time there EVERY hotel employee knew what had happened and was my 'best' friend! Oh, and on the plus side, they didn't charge us for the smashed door!

Becky bought new furniture for her office last Friday so I dragged out the hand truck and we began assembling and arranging it. She had this huge bookcase that she wanted moved to the spare bedroom so I loaded onto the hand truck and began backing it in. Well, hand truck slipped, I lost it and I was pinned against the dresser!! Besides major bruises, I came away with THIS!!
Not the greatest photos but you get the idea. Two of the wounds tore off skin to the bone. So when I was at my Podiatrist yesterday I had him treat this too. I just told him to pretend it was a foot!! I got antibiotics and was instructed on how to treat it. He's such a great doctor, surgeon and friend!! But I don't understand why he rolls his eyes whenever he sees me walk in! LOL!!
Becky had a new 4-drawer file cabinet delivered yesterday and me???? I hid in the garage!! I am now wrapped in bubblewrap!!

May 27 Not The Best Of Days!!Woke up at 4AM with my arm throbbbing and itching!! Swollen and red!! I do NOT need to lose anymore body parts!! Especially my 'Mouse Hand!' Luckily I had an appointment with my Podiatrist today!! I told him to treat my wrist like an ankle!! He checked it out and rolled his eyes!! Worked on it (OUCH!!!) and prescribed Antibiotics!! Duh!! One cut is down to the bone!! Gave me a few other instructions too! I was supposed to have the stitches removed from my foot but that will be another week. I will be fine!
Becky bought me a roll of bubble-wrap today!! lol Wise ass!! So I'm laying low!! Oh!! Becky had a new file cabinet delivered today and I am NOT going near it!!!!!! It has my name on it and is smirking!!!!
So, watching the Lakers/Spurs game!! So far, so good!! Lakers up by 12!! Sorry Miz Angie, but it's not over yet!!
I had to delay Clay Walker week for this song by Brad Paisley!! Clay will be back tomorrow! Back to the game!!! I like that the Spurs have been playing from behind ALL NITE!!
That's all I have!! Lakers won and next game is in L.A.!!! I'm sore and tired!! Hopefully feeling better tomorrow. Arm looks better!
May 26 Memorial Day!!I spent the day mourning the loss of many friends in VietNam. A few from High School! I watched one, John Haney, die at my feet! I on the other hand was lucky.... So I set up my flag and remembered what today means. I hope ypu all did too!
So after our big party yesterday, I just wanted to kick back today!! It was NOT to be! A clumsy bird fell into the chimney of our fireplace! These things have never gone well! So I found a shopping bag and opened the flue, awaiting it's fall. Nothing!!! The past few times, the bird bird flew around the house with the dogs chasing it! It also crapped all over so Becky pulled her hoody over her head!! Never did see a bird so I think it got out on it's own! And the dogs were SOOOO excited!! I was NOT!!!
We had tons of food left over from yesterday so we did the 'burger bar' again! YUM!!! Must eat something different tomorrow! Maybe Mexican??? Tomorrow is back to business as usual which to me means not much! I hope you all had a great long weekend! I have tons of visits to make this week so bear with me!!

May 25 Memorial Day Party!!We decided to celebrate today!! Invite some people over to do a 'Burger bar', which is really only beef and turkey burgers, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, Green peppers, cheese and a black bean salad and an Orzo salad!! It was a great time!! (As an aside, I'm watchng the original M.A.S.H movie..... Uncut!! Too funny!!)

May 24 Rant.... Not!I had a huge rant planned but I'll save it for later!! I watched ther BEST movie tonight! You MUST rent it!! 'Reign On Me' with Adam Sandler and Don Cheadle!! What a wonderful film!! Adam Sandler in a dramatic role blew me away!! He was SOOOO good and looked like a young Bob Dylan!! And Don Cheadle... was Don Cheadle!! Excellent!! So if you are looking for a great movie to watch, this is a GOOD one!
Sorry guys...... We didn't win the lottery, yet again!! This time I played 5 games and didn't get ONE number! But I will press on!! Mexico!!!!! I Promise!!
My rant was gonna be about people who wait until their groceries are all checked and bagged and THEN they decided to write a CHECK!! With an expired checkcard!! Assholes!! Actually I have lots of issues at the grocery store!! Things like "Move Your ASS", Don't Scratch Your ass before you rearraange the ice cream!! And do Not walk thru the parking lot in front of me!! But I gotta tell you, Jill and Raven can back me up!! We NEVER get rain after April but we got big time rain today!! Thunder, lightning and mucho rain! We need it but how strange! My friend Jill had a tornado close to her!! Tornados in California are just not right!! Earthquakes are enough!! This weather is supposed to be here for the next few days!! And then?? Who knows!! Probably back in the 100's!! But it was a nice break!
I assembled my wife's IKEA furniture today and it came out GREAT!! She is now organizsed! I'll take pics tomorrow!!

May 21 Game On!!!I KNEW this would be a great series!! L A Lakers and San Antonio Spurs!! What a game tonight..... if you are a Lakers fan! Lakers were down by 20 points at one point in the third quarter but started playing defense and came back to win 89 to 85!! GO LAKERS!! Sorry Spurs fans!! This has got to be painful to the Spurs! Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol are a killer combinnation! Add Derrick Fisher and their awesome bench?? WOW!!
We went back to IKEA today to buy Becky more office furniture and we discovered that they have a restaurant, We got breakfasts of scrambled eggs, bacon and fried potatoes for 99 cents!! Better than McDonald's!! The furniture looks good and is easy to assemble. They have so many cool things there but it requires some walking! But still COOL!
It has finally cooled off here.... in the 70's It has been nice! But I have a feeling that it's gonna be a long, HOT summer! We will not see rain here until at least October and we have already seen 4 wildfires!

May 18 Puerto Vallarta!OK!! I have been trying to post this for 3 days!! But between my computer and Spaces, It has been a pain in the...... Ear!! lol!
But here it is! LOL!
It was a smooth flight and when we arrived it was downright balmy. 75F with a nice ocean breeze. We were anxious to see our condo and thrilled when we did! Two bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, a Full kitchen, 3 TV's (with 90 channels!), a Hot Tub on our patio overlooking the ocean, a washer/dryer (instructions in Spanish), at least 12 closets and of course, maid service.

We spent our final night downtown at an Italian (YES!! Italian!) restaurant overlooking the sidewalk activity and the beach. They have interesting statues erected along the main drag!
But this guy?? He covered himself in mud and posed as a statue, motionless, for 5 minutes at a time!! When he finally moved, people would jump back!! LOL!! What a job!

Baseball GameI am STILL working on that vacation post but should have it finished by tomorrow. Sorry, but I've been busy since we returned. Today we had 4 free tickets to the Angels/Dodgers game, so we invited my Podiatrist and his wife to meet us there. The seats were field level, about 10 rows back from the Angels dugout but unfortunately they were in the sun and it was 101 degrees!! My doctor, being smarter than we are (that's why he's a doctor!), didn't show up but instead gave his tickets to two neighbor kids. Becky and I had hot dogs and lemonade before the game but it was so stinking hot that I only lasted 1 inning and Becky lasted 0 innings. She was standing back in the shady breezeway. When we found out that my Doctor wasn't coming we said screw this and left. After all, the tickets WERE free. We came home, turned on the A/C and watched the rest of the game on TV. I think we made the wise choice! Next time?? Night game!
Oh, and here's a tip: When it's 101F, do NOT wear a wool baseball cap!!

Hi all!! I'm sitting here in the lobby of our hotel In Puerto Vallarta and have finally been able to get online!! $25 for 24 hours!! And It won't even work from our room! I have 3 choices...... the pool area, the hotel bar or here in then lobby. I might try the bar tomorrow but it's quiet, cool and pleasent here.
Tomorrow I will be posting a LONG blog with LOTS of pics. And when I get home I'll put up a photo album. I hope you all are doing well. I'll be back Friday afternoon! WAAAAA!!!!!!

Had to go to the bank today (B of A) to take out $200 for our trip. Becky wanted $25 in 'ones', $75 in 'fives' and $100 in 'tens'! The line was LONG, but the 'floorwalker', customer service person, snatched me out of line and sent me to the V.I.P. room! Who knew!! I was in and out in no time and the guy even wanted to chat!! So one more job done!

May 07 Darn Vacations!!Sometimes they involve more work than they are worth! Paying bills a week and a half early, laundry, cleaning the house for the house-sitters, worrying about my bonsai.... Oh yeah!! And packing without forgetting anything! But seeing as how it's Mexico, the packing is easy. Bathing suits, sandals and tank-tops should do it! Damn!! I have to find my passport!! AARRRGGGHHHH!! I need to make a list!! NOW!! And another thing? I'm gonna miss you guys!! I'm hoping there is an Internet Cafe in the hotel. Puerto Vallarta was, and still is, the place I want to invite you all when I win that stinking lottery!! I'm working on it! What a fun time THAT would be!!
Good news is, my foot and my ribs are feeling Great!! So maybe I won't be a gimpy American tourista!! LOL! I'm looking forward to the 'swim-up' bar in the pool (Big drinks in coconuts!!) and the food!! Looks like it's gonna be in the 90's and humid, but that's southern Mexico!
I need a vacation BEFORE going on vacation, and another one when I get back!

I have an appointment in an hour with my Podiatrist (foot doctor), the one who performed my surgery. When I made the appointment my foot was killing me. I thought I had re-broken it! But since then I realized that maybe the problem was that I had discontinued my therapy for A MONTH!! Hey!! Shuttie!! LOL! Now it feels fine but I'm keeping the appointment because I have a gift for him. My wife obtained 4 tickets for a L.A.Angels/L.A.Dodgers baseball game on the 18th and I will offer him two of them (we are keeping the free parking pass, hahaha) and hopefully his wife and he can go. He has been the best doctor I have ever had and I want to repay him.

Papa John's pizza, respondinding to threats of a regional boycott of it's chain, is offering large, one-topping pizzas for 23 cents to Cleveland-area customers Thursday as homage to Cavaliers forward LeBron James (#23).
Last Friday in Washington D.C., the pizza company sponsered T-shirts with James' jersey No. 23 and the word "Crybaby" over it, in place of his name. James had complained about hard fouls during the Cavaliers playoff series against the Washington Wizards, prompting Wizards center Brendan Haywood to call James a crybaby.
The shirts drew the ire of Cleveland fans and led to the apology from Papa John's, but the Wizards are the ones crying now... Cleveland won the series.
Back from the Doc's! He loved getting the tickets and will be joining us! And by the way, my feet have Never felt better!! The ribs too!

May 05 Cinco de MayoYeah!! Any excuse to drink Margaritas!! HAH!! Went to out favorite Mexican place tonight and surprisingly were seated right away! Now, their normal thing is to bring Tortilla Chips and Salsa, but we always order a 'side' of refried beans and their delicious marinated carrots and Jalapeno peppers (not hot) and munch away. They have the BEST 'Albondigas (meatball) Soup and their salad and dressing is always ice cold!! I won't even get into the Margaritas......, but by the time the actual meal comes ( we had Chile Rellanos, Tacos, Enchildas, refried beans and rice) we were already almost full!! YAY!! Leftovers!! Lunch for me tomorrow!!
We leave for Puerto Vallarta on Saturday so it's busy time here!! Cleaning the house, packing, remembering what to bring, remembering what NOT to bring.... , But the important things are ready!! Camera, bathing suits and passports! Oh yeah, and sunscreen!! Damn!! I wish this could have been a "spaces' trip with all of you!! Would that be fun or what?? Oh Man!!! Well, I promise to take LOTS of pics!!
One really great thing is that we get to see our good friend Manual again!! He was our personal cab driver the last time we were there and he took us everywhere!! He is now a lawyer! YIKES!! Mexican Lawyer!! But I can't wait to see him again!! The last time we went there, I brought him a new fishing rod and reel and the guy cried!! We love him, and his wife!! I hope he still has his cab!! LOL!!
Well heck! I will be gone for 7 days so I need to choose a song to leave you with for 7 days!! OH!! I think I have one!! But that's 5 days away!!
