    Building A Campfire!!

I've noticed recently that alot of my friends have either been going camping or have been thinking about doing it!

Well, Good news!!   You came to the right place!!  You see?  I was an actual Boy Scout!!  That's right!!  "Be Prepared" was my motto!!   And still is..... usually...!    But whatever!!   I come from a long line of outdoorsmen and adventuers!!  You've heard of Daniel Boone????  Davey Crockett????  Lewis and Clark????  Well, so have I!!!!!

So here are a few tips for starting a fire on your next camping trip.  And remember, 'Only YOU Can Prevent Forest Fires'  (Smokey)

Building a campfire is easy, just follow these sixteen steps (in order):

Split dead limb into fragments and shave one fragment into slivers.

     Bandage left thumb.

Chop other fragments into smaller fragments.

     Bandage left foot.

Make structure of slivers (include those embedded in hand).

     Light Match.

     Light Match.

     Light Match.

Repeat "a Scout is cheerful" and light match.

Apply match to slivers, add wood fragments, and blow gently   into base of fire.

     Apply burn ointment to nose.

When fire is burning, collect more wood.

Upon discovering that fire has gone out while out searching for
more wood, soak wood from can labeled "kerosene."

Treat face and arms for second-degree burns.

     Relabel can to read "gasoline."

When fire is burning well, add all remaining firewood.

When thunder storm has passed, repeat above steps.

    See??  Easy!!

I hope these few tips help!

    GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Yeah, yeah... Look out when Bob has been camping!!!!

    Showers All Around!

Today, the day before Memorial Day, we (I) decided to create a new tradition!!  Bathing all three dogs!!  It was fun, for me...!

Mrs Serious was just finishing up her shower when the idea struck me!  So I gathered the pups in the bathroom, threw in a bottle of dog shampoo and began feeding them through the door!!  I thought it worked out GREAT!!  The dogs loved it, I loved it and Mrs Serious..... not so much!  But the dogs came out looking great, I didn't get too wet and Mrs S only had to take one more shower! (This is why I lock the door when I shower!!)  The dogs look wonderful now with shiny coats and a new respect for water!

After that fiasco, we went to a graduation party for one of our nieces.  Mexican food and lots of beer!!  And on the plus side, I got to drive.... the 350Z.... BOTH WAYS!!!  So I didn't drink.  Just did alot of key jingling!!  (Can we go now?? Can we go now.... *pant**pant*)

So tomorrow is the actual Holiday, even if it IS happening on the 28th instead of the traditional 31st!!  'Monday, Monday!!  Can't trust that day!'  Don't have alot planned here.  Wake up at 'silly O'clock' to put the flag out, eat watermelon (???) for breakfast, look for marathons on TV and BBQ!! (Thinking chicken, potato salad and corn-on-the-cob!)  Oh Yeah!!  The Hockey Playoffs!! (Judy!!) And baseball!!  And... and.. and!!!!!!!   Just alot of relaxing and thinking about all of our heroes who have died defending this country on foreign soil.

After all, isn't that what this holiday is really all about?

To you all, my friends, Have fun, enjoy the day off, and take a minute to remember the young men and women who gave their lives to keep us free.

    Have a GREAT Memorial Day!!!!
    I love you all!!

    Memorial Day

I planned on doing a post about how great it was to have 3-day weekend and what, with the weather being so nice recently.  But then I ran into an old man outside of Albertson's selling Poppys with the donation to be given to the Veterans of Foreign Wars charity.  Of course, I bought one, although I should have purchased dozens!

You see?  I'm a VietNam Vet!  Spent two tours there.  Enlisted.  Saw good friends become wounded, disabled and killed!   And when I tell people this, I usually get the same five questions

    1. Was it scary??    (Ummm... YEAH!!)

    2. Did you kill anyone?   ( I HAD to!!  It was me or them... Didn't actually count!)

    3. Would you do it again?   ( You bet your ass!!!)

    4. Were you NUTS???  (Only if I hadn't taken on the job!)

    5. Why did you do it?  (I was an American soldier!!  It was my job!)

Now, I'm not a violent person but when you are thrown into a situation like that, you either react and learn to survive or you die.  I chose the former!

In the end, I came out of the whole mess as a survivor. I contracted throat cancer, which the doctors claimed was because of the Agent Orange that was being used to kill the vegation in the jungles there ( I have no vocal cords), but I'm alive!

And the lesser 'ordeal', which was flying in to El Paso, Texas, only to be spit on, have shit thrown at us,  and called 'Baby Killers!!', which was totally CRAP!! (We never responded back), I survived that crap too!

It's been 30 years now and I'm still trying to let the whole experience go.  Someday, maybe,  who knows...  When the nightmares stop..

So next time you see an old man selling those Poppys, wearing his little VFW hat??  Please think of me and buy one, and PLEASE thank him!!  He has sacrificed his life for you!!  He is why you are free today...

    Have a GREAT Memorial Day!!

    Bush's Resignation Speech

This is really good!!  Kinda funny but very true.  I am NOT a big Bush fan but this really got me to thinking.  (Also. I've switched back to my favorite music, Country)  Sorry if it's too 'twangy' for ya'll!! )

    Bush's Resignation Speech:

Normally, I start these things out by saying "My Fellow Americans."
Not doing it this time. If the polls are any indication, I don't know who
more than half of you are anymore.  I do know something terrible has
happened, and that you're really not fellow Americans any longer.

I'll cut right to the chase here: I quit. Now before anyone gets all
in a lather about me quitting to avoid impeachment, or to avoid
prosecution or something, let me assure you: there's been no breaking of
laws or impeachable offenses in this office.

The reason I'm quitting is simple. I'm fed up with you people.  I'm fed up because you have no understanding of what's really going on in the world. Or of what's going on in this once-great nation of ours. And the majority of you are too damned lazy to do your homework and figure it out. Let's start local. You've been sold a bill of goods by politicians and the news media. Polls show that the majority of you think the economy is in the tank. And that's despite record numbers of homeowners including record numbers of MINORITY homeowners. And while we're mentioning minorities, I'll point out that minority business ownership is at an all-time high. Our unemployment rate is as low as it ever was during the Clinton Administration. I've mentioned all those things before, but it doesn't seem to have sunk in.

Despite the shock to our economy of 9/11, the stock market has
rebounded to record levels and more Americans than ever are participating
in these markets. Meanwhile, all you can do is whine about gas prices, and
most of you are too damn stupid to realize that gas prices are high
because there's increased demand in other parts of the world, and because
a small handful of noisy idiots are more worried about polar bears and
beachfront property than your economic security.

We face real threats in the world. Don't give me this "blood for oil"
thing.  If I was trading blood for oil I would've already seized Iraq's oil
fields and let the rest of the country go to hell.  And don't give me this
'Bush Lied People Died' crap either.  If I was the liar you morons take me
for, I could've easily had chemical weapons planted in Iraq so they could
be 'discovered.'  Instead, I owned up to the fact that the intelligence
was faulty. Let me remind you that the rest of the world thought Saddam
had the goods, same as me.  Let me also remind you that regime change in
Iraq was official US policy before I came into office.  Some guy named
'Clinton' established that policy.  Bet you didn't know that, did you?

You idiots need to understand that we face a unique enemy.  Back during
the cold war, there were two major competing political and economic
models squaring off.  We won that war, but we did so because fundamentally, the Communists wanted to survive, just as we do.  We were simply able to
    outspend and out-tech them.

That's not the case this time. The soldiers of our new enemy don't care
if they survive.  In fact, they want to die. That'd be fine, as long as
they weren't also committed to taking as many of you with them as they
can. But they are. They want to kill you.  And the bastards are all over
    the globe.

You should be grateful that they haven't gotten any more of us here in
the United States since September 11.  But you're not.  That's because
you've got no idea how hard a small number of intelligence, military, law
enforcement and homeland security people have worked to make sure of that.
When this whole mess started, I warned you that this would be a long and
difficult fight.  I'm disappointed how many of you people think a long and
difficult fight amounts to a single season of 'Survivor'.

Instead, you've grown impatient.  You're incapable of seeing things
through the long lens of history, the way our enemies do.  You think that
wars should last a few months, a few years, tops.

Making matters worse, you actively support those who help the enemy.
Every time you buy the New York Times, every time you send a donation to a
cut-and-run Democrat's political campaign, well, dammit, you might just as
well Fedex a grenade launcher to a Jihadist.  It amounts to the same thing.

In this day and age, it's easy enough to find the truth.  It's all over
the Internet.  It just isn't on the pages of the New York Times or on NBC
News. But even if it were, I doubt you'd be any smarter.  Most of you would
    rather watch American Idol.

I could say more a bout your expectations that the government will
always be there to bail you out, even if you're too stupid to leave a city
that's below sea level and has a hurricane approaching.  I could say more
about your insane belief that government, not your own wallet, is where
the money comes from.  But I've come to the conclusion that were I to do
so, it would sail right over your heads.

So I quit.  I'm going back to Crawford. I've got an energy-efficient
house down there (Al Gore could only dream) and the capability to be fully
self-sufficient.  No one ever heard of Crawford before I got elected, and
as soon as I'm done here pretty much no one will ever hear of it again.
Maybe I'll be lucky enough to die of old age before the last pillars of
    America fall.

Oh, and by the way, Cheney's quitting too.  That means Pelosi is your
new President.  You asked for it.  Watch what she does carefully, because I still have a glimmer of hope that there're just enough of you remaining who are smart enough to turn this thing around in 2008.
So that's it.  God bless what's left of America.  Some of you know
    what I mean. Good Luck!

    King Crimson

    Turn your speakers on

Yes, King Crimson!  How many of you remember this English band from the early 70's?  The first band to really understand the Moog Synthethizer!  Along with the Moody Blues, Pink Floyd and Procol Harem, they were innovators!!  And does anyone remember Robert Fripp??  He was the lead singer and guitarist and went on to produce many more wonderful albums!!  Anyhow, this song has always been my favorite from them!!  I hope you enjoy it!

Now I have something to share with you tonight!!

When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a small hospital near Tampa, Florida, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.

Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to
    Missouri
. The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas edition of the News
    Magazine of the
    St. Louis
Association for Mental Health.  A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this little old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this "anonymous" poem winging across the Internet.

    Crabby Old Man

What do you see nurses? ......What do you see?
What are you thinking......when you're looking at me?
A crabby old man, ...not very wise,
Uncertain of habit ........with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles his food.......and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice....."I do wish you'd try!"
Who seems not to notice ...the things that you do.
And forever is losing .............. A sock or shoe?

Who, resisting or not...........lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding ...... The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?   Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse......you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am .......... As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .....as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten.......with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters ..........who love one another

A young boy of Sixteen ...with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now. ..........a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty ........my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows........that I promised to keep.

At Twenty-Five, now .......... I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty ......... My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other ........ With ties that should last.

At Forty, my young sons ....have grown and are gone ,    But my woman's beside me........to see  I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .......... Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children ......... My loved one and me.

Dark days are upon me .......... My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ............I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing ...young of their own.
And I think of the years...... And the love that I've known.

I'm now an old man.........and nature is cruel.
Tis jest to make old age .......look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles..........grace and vigor, depart.
There is now a stone........where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass ...... A young guy still dwells,
And now and again ........my battered heart swells.
I remember the joys.............. I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living.............life over again.

I think of the years ....all too few......gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact........that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people ..........open and see..
Not a crabby old man.  Look  Closer... see... ME!!!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within.....we will all,
    one day, be there, too!

I hope you ALL have a wonderful weekend!!!

    xo to all,  Bob~

    Bring On Ottawa!!!!

YES!!!!!!!!!  The Ducks beat the Detroit Red Wings tonight 4 to 3 at the Honda Center in Anaheim!!  (Screw you Brett Hull!!  LOL)!  So the battle for the Stanley Cup begins next Monday, here!!  Plenty of rest for both teams and I expect a GREAT series!!  It was an exciting game and I'm sooooo glad that I could be there!!  It was very loud and we got our money's worth!!  And for all of you East Coast fans??  We play some pretty darned good hockey here, even though you never get to watch it!

The Senators are an excellent hockey club:  They proved it by manhandling Buffalo, but I expect the Ducks to be fired up and ready to go!  BYW, this year, these two teams did not play each other during the regular season!!  Should be interesting!!

    Wooo Hooo!!!

    Go here for the story:

Ducks advance to Stanley Cup finals

After building a 3-0 lead, Anaheim survives a late scare from attacking Red Wings. Giguere makes 26 saves in the clinching victory.
By Lonnie White, Times Staff Writer
    8:50 PM PDT, May 22, 2007

The Detroit Red Wings have the more historic franchise, but they were no match for the Ducks, who became Western Conference champions with a 4-3 victory in Game 6 tonight at Honda Center.

Goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere was dominant and the Ducks received goals from Rob Niedermayer, Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf and Samuel Pahlsson to win the best-of-seven series, 4-2, and advance to the Stanley Cup finals for the second time in four years.

The Ducks will play the Ottawa Senators, the Eastern Conference champions, in the Cup finals starting Monday in Anaheim.

"I think in this dressing room we have a great team and if we believe in each other and believe in the system, I think we can do a lot of good things," said Giguere, who finished with 26 saves. "And at this point in time it would be a shame not to go all out, go all in and see whattext ignored--you gotta believe that your cards are better than the other guy's cards."

The Ducks, who won the final three games of the series, proved to be the better team from the start in Game 6.

Niedermayer registered a first-period goal and Perry and Getzlaf knocked in scores in the second as the Ducks led, 3-0, after two periods.

Detroit finally got the puck past Giguere early in the third period when Henrik Zetterberg scored his sixth goal of the playoffs to cut the Ducks' lead to 3-1 at 3:15.

But the Ducks responded with a score by Pahlsson, who beat Detroit goaltender Dominik Hasek off a rebound in transition to put the Ducks back in front by three goals at 5:54.

The Red Wings, who didn't win a game after the Ducks' Chris Pronger was given a one-game suspension for his hit to the head of Detroit's Tomas Holmstrom in Game 3, made things interesting down the stretch when Pavel Datsyuk scored a power-play goal at 10:08 to cut the Ducks' lead to 4-2.

With Getzlaf in the penalty box, Detroit closed within one-goal when Datsyuk smacked in his second power-play score of the game at 16:56. Then moments later, the Red Wings found themselves with another man-advantage situation when the Ducks' Travis Moen went to the box at 17:10.

But in the end, the difference proved to be Giguere, who made the Ducks' goals stand up over the final 10 minutes with stellar saves on several solid scoring chances by the Red Wings, including great looks by Johan Franzen, Holmstrom and Zetterberg.

"I don't think we're fortunate," Giguere said before Game 6. "We worked hard all year; we deserve to be where we're at right now."

    Hockey-Town?..... Anaheim!

I'm a huge hockey fan!  Almost as much as I am a baseball fan.  My team, the Anaheim Ducks ( formerly the 'Mighty Ducks') are embroiled in a 7 game series with the Detroit Red Wings (GRRRRR!!)  and the series was tied 2 games to 2 going into today's game in Detroit.  It didn't look good for my Ducks, what with many injuries, not playing as they have all season and having to play in Joe Lewis Arena, which has not been kind to them!!  The fans there today were wild and it seemed to take a toll on the Ducks!!  The Red Wings were all over them all game... It was a very physical game with lots of BIG hits!!!  The Ducks were behind 1 to 0!!

But with 2:11 minutes left in the game, the Wings were called for a penalty!!  So not only did the Ducks have a one man advantage, but they also pulled their goalie to make it 6 against 4!  (A rare move with that much time left!)

At 47:3 seconds left in the game, they scored to tie the game!!!!  Then at 11:57 into overtime they scored the winning goal!!!!  (I wanted to jump up and scream, but Mrs Serious was taking a nap next to me so I controlled my joy!)

The Red Wings and their fans were crushed!!  (Hehehehe!!!)

So now it's back here for game 6, and hopefully the Ducks will win and go on to beat the Quebec Senators and win the Stanley Cup!!  I HAVE TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!

In case any of you are interested, here is an article and recap of that VERY exciting game!!!  (I'm still catching my breath!!)

    Suddenly it's advantage, Ducks

Scott Niedermayer's goal on a six-on-four power play ties it with 47 seconds left in regulation, and Selanne's overtime goal gives Anaheim 2-1 win over Red Wings and 3-2 series lead.
By Eric Stephens, Times Staff Writer
    1:10 PM PDT, May 20, 2007

DETROIT -- Less than a minute remained in a game the Ducks had no business winning, with the Western Conference finals possibly about to turn for good in the direction of the Detroit Red Wings.

Perhaps the only opportunity to change their fortunes stood before them. One final power play with two extra men on their side after pulling goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere.

With two shocking flash-point moments in Game 5, the Ducks might have destiny on their side.

Scott Niedermayer's deflected goal tied the score with 47.3 seconds left in regulation and Teemu Selanne won it 11:57 into overtime to give the Ducks a stunning 2-1 victory Sunday at Joe Louis Arena and an advantage of three games to two in the best-of-seven series.

The first team to win consecutive games in this hard-fought matchup, the Ducks now head home with the opportunity to clinch their second trip to the Stanley Cup finals in Game 6 Tuesday night in Anaheim.

"It's huge," Ducks center Ryan Getzlaf said. "To come up in this building and steal a game tonight and battle back the way we did, to stay focused and stay on the job at hand, it's good for our group.

"We've just got to continue on, and hopefully we can get it done at home."

Game 5 had been the Red Wings' domain in this year's Stanley Cup playoffs — they won it in the first two rounds against Calgary and San Jose to help them close out those series in six games.

The near-sellout crowd of 20,003 anticipated a similar result. It seemed as if the Red Wings would make defenseman Andreas Lilja's first playoff goal stand up as they dominated play for most of regulation.

Except there was the final minute to be played. Pavel Datsyuk went off for interference at 18:13 of the third period, leaving the Ducks with the final 1:47 to play with an advantage.

The Ducks called a timeout. Giguere, who kept them close with a stellar game, went to the bench and his teammates went to work with two extra attackers.

Chris Pronger, who returned from his Game 4 suspension, got the puck along the left side and dropped it down low to Selanne. Selanne spotted Niedermayer in the slot and shuttled a pass to him.

Niedermayer caught the puck with his right skate and shifted it to his shooting side.

"I didn't think about the series at that point," he said. "I'm just thinking about scoring a goal. That's what I think most of us are thinking. Just try to get a goal here to tie it up and go from there."

Detroit captain Nicklas Lidstrom got into position to make a play on Niedermayer's shot. The puck deflected off Lidstrom's stick and hopped over the left shoulder of Red Wings goalie Dominik Hasek, to the dismay of a crowd awaiting a celebration.

"I was going to put it off the crossbar and in," Niedermayer cracked.

With renewed energy, the Ducks took the offensive in overtime and forced a crucial mistake by Lilja.

Lilja barely escaped a speeding Selanne behind the net, but Andy McDonald cut off the defenseman as he headed up ice. Selanne jumped on the turnover and faked Hasek to the ice with a move before flipping a backhand shot top shelf on only his second shot of the game.

"You've just got to take advantage of the opportunities when you get the chance," McDonald said. "When Teemu gets that opportunity, he usually buries it."

All of this would not have happened if not for Giguere. He made 36 saves for the second consecutive game, including consecutive stops on Datsyuk and bang-bang saves on Johan Franzen in the third period.

Burned by Detroit's power play all series, the Ducks killed off seven disadvantages largely because of their goaltender's play. Giguere is now 12-1 in overtime playoff games.

"They're carrying the play, but it was only 1-0," Ducks center Todd Marchant said of Detroit's lead. "Jiggy played unbelievable for us. As a result, he kept us in the game and gave us a chance to win.

"We rewarded him with the overtime win."

Said Pronger: "It easily could have been 3-0 or 4-0 [Detroit]."

In truth, the Ducks also have fared quite well in the fifth game of series this postseason. They've used it as the series clincher against Minnesota and Vancouver.

Now that the pivotal game is theirs, the Ducks are on the brink of reaching the place they aimed for all season.

"In the end, we found a way to get it done," Ducks Coach Randy Carlyle said. "There's been no quitting in this group whatsoever, right from the beginning early in September [during] training camp, right through to tonight."

    The Good Old Days!

Living in Southern California has meant many things to me over the years.  The beaches, surfing, skiing in the mountains, Disneyland and enjoying our beautiful deserts.  But one thing we had lost was our ever popular Drive-In Movies.  Where you had to drive over those huge humps to get your car lined up just right so that you could see the whole screen and still be close enough to the speakers to get them onto your car window.  The last one closed down a few years ago.  How sad.  I can still remember going to a Drive-In with my wife and we both wore our PJ's.  Taking along a pizza and a 6-pack of beer, we had dinner and were ready for bed!  It was the ultimate in summer entertainment during the dog days of summer.  The last one to close down was a mere 3 blocks from our home!

Now, word has come that a new one has opened here at the Orange County Fairgrounds today!!  They showed 'Shrek 3" tonight!  They now have discarded those speakers that you hung on your window in favor of a device that you clip on your car antenna so that the sound comes thru your radio.  Also missing is the guy who rode around on his bicyclce to make sure that nothing 'inappropriate' was going on!!  Damn!!  That was the FUN part! LOL!  We are soooo going this weekend!!  I only wish that I had a '57 Chevy to drive there in!!  But it should be a Blast!!!!  I'll let you all know!

A Cancer Update From Johns Hopkins

I was going to post something witty tonight (yeah, right!!) but I found this article and thought this was more important.  Their guidelines look a little difficult to follow, but it is interesting information.

    1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a fewbillion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable  to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable  size.

    2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

    3. When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be  destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumors.

    4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple
nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental,  food and lifestyle factors.

    5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and
including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

    6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and  also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow,  gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver,  kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

    7. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages  healthy cells, tissues and organs.

    8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

    9. When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

    10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

    11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

    CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

    a. Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one
important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like
NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in color. A better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

    b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soya milk cancer cells are being starved.

    c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

    d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh
vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

    e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

    12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meats remaining in the intestines become putrefied and leads to more toxic buildup.
    13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

    14. Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence,Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

    15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

    16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells.

    Further informatiom:

    1. No plastic containers in microwave.

    2. No water bottles in freezer.

    3. No plastic wrap in microwave.

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This
information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well.
Dioxin chemicals causes cancer, especially breast cancer.
Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies.
Don't freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic.

Recently, Dr. Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital, was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us.

He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers.

This especially applies to foods that contain fat.

He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the
    body.

Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware,
Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food. You get the
same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else.

Paper isn't bad but you don't know what is in the paper.
It's just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc.

He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food
restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper.
The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes
poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap
and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

I realize that this was a long read but I hope each of you stuck with it and are reading this now!  I can tell you from personel expreience that cancer is a VERY cruel disease.  If you only follow a few of these guidelines, it might be helpful!  Stay well.
